Is it really free to advertise?
Yes! It really is free to advertise on Pets-4-U, anybody can use the site for free. It is free to register as a member, free to place for sale and wanted adverts (including an image) and view other aspects of the site including being able to contact other sellers. The only things we charge for are the Featured Ads (priced at the bargain price of 99p for 90 days) and for advertising in the Services section (priced at just £1.99 for 90 days). Aside from that, its totally free!

Do I need to register to advertise?
Anyone wishing to place an advert or use the facilities (anywhere on the site) must register. You do not need to register just to browse the site. It is easy to register for an account (and of course free!). We only need a few details, an email and password.

What do I get if I register?
You get your own account and can add, update and remove your own adverts, upload your own images to your adverts. Adverts appear on the site straight away so you don’t have to wait hours for their approval.

How do I know when I’m registered?
We email you your username and password once you’ve registered (so you must use a genuine email address to register with!) Once you have received this, you can log in and start posting adverts or getting in touch with sellers straight away.

How long will my ad stay on the site for?
Ads are displayed on Pets-4-U for 90 days by standard.
You can re-upload them easily from your Profile page though if you want to. Equally, if you sell your pets or items before the 90 days is up you can end your listing early by either pausing it, marking it as sold or if you would prefer you can email us and we’ll remove the listing for you completely off the site. Once you have paused it yourself though it disappears off the site so no one else would see it anyway until it automatically got deleted after 90 days. To pause or mark an item as sold, click on “My Dashboard” at the top right of the screen or “Manage Ads” on the right of the home page when you’re logged in.

How do I edit my ads once they’re on the site?
Once you’re logged in, click on “Manage Ads” on the home page (or “My Dashboard” at the top right of any page):

What do I get if I pay to place my ad as a Features Listing?
Your ad will be viewed by even more people as Features Listings are seen on the home page of the site and scroll along constantly – anyone who finds themselves on Pets-4-U will see these scrolling along. People often report having up to 40 times more viewers see their ads when they pay to have them in the Features Listings section. Also, your ads will appear at the top of the category you place the ad in, along with the other advertisers who pay to have theirs in there too. At the ridiculously low introductory price of just 99p for 90 days, you’ve got nothing to lose! The vast majority of other pet clssified websites out there charge somewhere in the region of £1.99-£3.00 PER DAY!

How do I pay to have my ad listed in the Featured Listings banner?
When you’re logged in and go through the “Post an Ad” options – you’ll select which category you want your ad to appear in, it’ll ask you to put the title, description, price, location, etc. in for your ad and then near the bottom you will see a highlighted section saying “

I own a pet business, can I advertise on Pets-4-U?
You certainly can! We have a Services section specifically for you and your business. It costs just £1.99 for 90 days which we believe to be possibly the internets cheapest advertising package, especially considering your ad will be viewed by your target audience! Please don’t place your adverts in the other free categories as we screen for this regularly and will remove your listing. We want to keep Pets-4-U free for the vast majority of users to increase site views and hits - don’t spoil it for others.
Alternatively, we offer block adverts (125×125 pixels) on both the home page and each additional category page. For home page adverts, we have set the introductory price to just £9.99 for 6 months (definitely one of the cheapest advertising deals on the internet at the moment!) and for advertising on other pages excluding the home page, the price is just £4.99 for 6 months. Email us if you would like to place an advert.

I can’t find my ads, what’s happened?
Due to Pets-4-U’s popularity and high Google ranking, the site was attracting a large number of spammers and as a result of this we have taken the decision to screen each ad before they go live. So rather than appearing immediately, it will be placed in a small queue while we assess the validity of the ad. Therefore it you are wishing to list a tiger cub free to good home or pug puppy for adoption for £75 then you needn’t bother as those ads will never make it live!
Alternatively, if your ad was previously online and now you can’t find it, the most likely outcome is that your ad may have expired – if you posted your ad a while ago, it is possible that the ad has expired from the site (they run for 90 days). Remember that its totally free to advertise on Pets-4-U (aside from the Services section and the Featured Ads section) so you could always upload the advert again.

I just clicked on the Featured Listing box to have my item shown on the homepage but PayPal directs me to an account named Ace Animals – is this right?
It is absolutely fine – it is an old business name which the owners of Pets-4-U used to run and own before changing to Pets-4-U. It is the same business PayPal account so we have just kept our old PayPal username to save any hassle waiting for them to update their information. Ace Animals will show up on your debit/credit card/bank statement but it goes to Pets-4-U so don’t worry – your listing will go through as a paid listing automatically so you won’t lose anything!
